The Nikon D7000 is the brand’s latest mid level DSLR, housed inside a magnesium alloy body. Highlights include the 16.2MP CMOS sensor, the new speedy “Expeed 2” processor, full 1080p movie recording, 912,000 dot 3 inch LCD. It also features Nikon’s new 39 point AF system which includes 3D tracking and a 2016 pixel RGB metering sensor.

The Nikon D5100 is a difficult DSLR to categorise. It sits somewhere in between the mid-upper level D700 and the entry level D3100. The ergonomics are similar to the D3100 and it shares the powerful 16MP CMOS sensor possessed by the D700O. It has a few tricks of its own chucked in however, such as the new ‘Effects’ modes, and the articulated LCD screen.
